Ep 95 - Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View

Have you ever looked at a character in the background of a movie and thought, “I wonder what that guy’s story is?” Have you ever wondered how a certain character got to that point in the story? Have you ever thought about all of the beings that were lost in that big explosion, even if it saved the day? Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View is a collection of 40 stories from characters that filled that original classic. Some are well known characters like Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Grand Moff Tarkin. Others are from those who had very little screen time like Aunt Beru and Biggs Darklighter. And others who you may have never even considered like the mouse droids and the dianoga in the trash compactor on the Star Destroyer.

Ep 92 - A Psalm for the Wild-Built

Imagine a world where not only did humans turn things around and not destroy the planet, but we also managed to peacefully co-exist with sentient robots and allowed them to go off and do their own thing? In this month’s book, A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers, a tea serving monk, Sibling Dex, goes on a journey and meets a robot, Mosscap, who has not been seen for hundreds of years. Together, they try to answer the question all robots have for humanity, “ “what do people need?” The philosophical questions it raises fill the lion’s share of this short yet thoughtful book.

Ep 90 - An Interview With Dennis E. Taylor

Since then, he has written and released, two more books in the Bobiverse series, Heaven’s River and Not Till We Are Lost, and second book in the Quantum Earth Series, Earthside, two short stories, Feedback and A Change of Plans, and a one off book that may get a sequel as well, Roadkill. We had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Mr. Taylor about all of that plus some other fun things like a crossover he didn’t know about.
